Milford Sound cont.

Annie bless her heart took us on a free cruise of the sound for my birthday. We were entertained by the MC Jonno who gave us free booze, he was a legend...
The cruise was amazing, we boarded the 'Lady of the Sound' , relaxed and took in the breath taking views.

Milford Sound

We headed to Milford to meet Dani s old school friend Annie, she was working there and offered us a place to stay in the beautiful Sound. We went through the Homer Tunnel on the way....scary!
Milford Sound runs 15 kilometres inland from the Tasman Sea and is surrounded by sheer rock faces that rise 1,200 metres or more on either side.
It is one of the most incredible places we have ever seen, rain or shine there is always something beautiful and huge to attract your attention.

Back on the road.

More scenery, on our way to Milford Sound.

ArrowTown.cont.

Dani had her heart set on panning for gold so we hired some gear and off we went. I found absolutely nothing but D found some, not enough to give up work though!! There was a news paper cutting of a guy that found a lump worth 40,000!!! so maybe we ll keep trying...

ArrowTown.

After Wanaka, we headed on to a place called Arrowtown which is an old gold mining town. It was really old fashioned and the buildings were like they were all them years ago.

Puzzling World cont.

An old Roman toilet.... not particularly private but I'm not shy!!

Puzzling World cont.

Inside there were many different optical illusions and things to play with. It was very interesting but you left with a bit of a dizzy head-ache.
