Some Mauri art and a kiwi bird!

Auckland Museum

After having a stroll through a park, past some huge trees, we went to have a look in the Auckland Museum.

more auckland

Arrived in Auckland!

We finally arrived in Auckland arfter a long old slog on the road...(well done Matt!).. It was crazy being in a city again, trying to Navigate to Matt where we where to go whilst he drove was a bit trying but we both managed to survive without too many injuries!! lol!

Rotorua

Rotorua was a great place, lots of Maori culture, however the smell of the town was a bit pongy!!

more feeding the animals!!

North Island

We spent hours trying to look for a campsite near lake Taupo only to discover that it didn't exist!! So after calming ourselves down we pulled in to this lil campsite. It was a farm with some really outgoing animals!!
The Alpaca shall we say didn't take a liking to us. After going to the kitchen, witch was a couple minutes walk away from our tent, we realised that we had forgotten something, so Matt voluntered to go get it. He soon discovered that this Alpacca was guarding our tent and wouldn't let us near it!! It chased away a couple of times and then starting Spitting at Matt......very funny but quite scarey at the same time!!!
Then we met up with the chickens and peacock............which we hand fed, although the peacock was in love with the chicken they we're pretty pleasent!!

Abel Tasmin

This was the last stop for us in the South Island......Abel Tasmin is such a beautiful place, when the tide goes out you can walk for miles.

Travelling north up the west coast....

After a few hours on the road we came to a lovely campsite in Hokitika, that had a small farm with huge pop bellied pigs and 2 adorable ducks that followed us everywhere! We followed a small path that led us to this beautiful beach with not another soul on it!

Glacier hike

Franz Joseph Glacier

travelling up the west coast of NZ we stopped at Franz Joseph and took a guided hike on the glacier there. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip, i have never seen anything like it.
